Jason grew up in the shadows of Welch Village and began ski racing as a freshman in both high school and USSA.  He was a member of the Hastings slalom ski team and helped the team finish 2nd and 3rd in the Minnesota state meet. Jason went on to coach at Hastings and Burnsville before taking some time away from the slopes. He returned to skiing, ski racing, and coaching in 2017. He is now the head coach at Hastings, D-team coach at Welch Village, and an avid masters racer. "Masters racing allows me to test ideas and drills that I can include in my high school and D-Team coaching." Jason joined the MWM board in 2022 with the goal of expanding participation and growing the greatest sport on snow.
